Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi on Saturday hit back at the opposition for criticizing the Government of India over unemployment. She said that those who do not wish to see the progress of India will obviously have problems.

Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi said, "Today, India is one of the five largest economies in the world. Those who do not wish to see the progress of India will obviously have problems".

Criticizing the Congress over its past policies, Lekhi said that "from the 'fragile five' economies to 'top five' economies now, India has come a long way, which is why the opposition is having a problem".

"I was in Chhattisgarh yesterday. I came to know that there was corruption in government jobs. There should be transparency in government jobs, and corruption should end. For this, programs such as Rozgar Mela are being organised", she added.

Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi joined the Rozgar Mela in Delhi and gave appointment letters to appointees.

"Joined Hon'ble Prime Minister Modi Ji from New Delhi at the Rashtriya Rozgar Mela, as he distributed appointment letters to 51,000+ appointees across the country", she said in a post on X.

A Rozgar Mela is an event where employers and job seekers come together to apply for and give interviews for jobs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed over 50,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that till now lakhs of youth have been given appointment letters for government jobs under the Rozgar Mela.

"Rozgar Mela was started in October last year. 'Rojgar Mela' is being organised at the Centre and in NDA, BJP-ruled states. Till now, lakhs of youth have been given appointment letters for government jobs. Today, more than 50,000 youth have been given government jobs. There is some time in Diwali, but this occasion is no less than Diwali for the families of the receivers of 50,000 appointment letters," he said. (ANI)
