Himachal Pradesh: JP Nadda attends Durga idol immersion programme at Bilaspur

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda on Tuesday attended the Durga idol immersion programme at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh.

On the occasion, BJP chief JP Nadda said, "Goddess Durga is a form of power. I wish everyone Vijayadashami and I hope God gives us the power to create a good, prosperous environment for everyone."

Durga Puja is one of India's most important festivals, and Vijaya Dashami marks the culmination of the festivities.

The festival of Navratri honours the defeat of the demonic Mahishasura and the triumph of good over evil. The 10th day of Sharad Navratri is celebrated as Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami.

Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Vijayadashami.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, "Best wishes to my family members across the country on Vijayadashami. This holy festival brings the message of ending negative forces as well as adopting goodness in life. Wishing you all a Happy Vijaya Dashami!"Vijayadashami, or Dussehra, is a prominent Hindu festival celebrated every year at the end of Navaratri."

On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday emphasized that the principles of Lord Ram can provide solutions to fight various evils prevailing in society. The President made these remarks during her participation in the Dussehra festivities organized by the Dharmic Leela Committee at the Red Fort. (ANI)
