Andhra Pradesh: Man stabbed to death in Palnadu's Gurzala town

A man was killed after being stabbed multiple times by unidentified youths in Gurzala town of Palnadu district, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kunireddy Krishnareddy.

According to Narasaraopet Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh, "The incident took place in Palnadu district, Jangamaheswaram village of Gurzala town. The deceased worked as a supervisor in a government wine shop in Pulipadu village."

"The attack was witnessed by some locals in the area who said that the deceased was on his way home when he was brutally attacked by some assailants who threw pepper in his eyes and used hunting knives to murder him," said the official.

According to the DSP, the deceased's body has been sent for a postmortem investigation and a case has been registered for murder.

The official further said that the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained and the assailants are yet to be identified.

"We are investigating the matter. Police surveillance has been arranged in Gurzala town to prevent any untoward incident," said the DSP.
