A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable died after his service rifle "accidentally" went off inside a car in Rajasthan's Sikar district, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the Fatehpur area, and the deceased CISF personnel was identified as Devilal, a resident of Chanana village in Jhunjhunu district.

Other CISF officers rushed the constable to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Sikar Superintendant of Police Paris Deshmukh told mediapersons, "We received information this morning that a CISF constable in Fatehpur was killed in a firing incident."

"Further details will become clear only after an investigation," he added.

Primafacie it appears that the CISF constable rifle's trigger got pressed by accident, police said. (ANI)
