Delhi Lieutenant Governor approves promotion, regularisation of accounts officers in Finance Department

Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar (VK) Saxena approved the promotion of 27 officers in different grades of Accounts Cadre in the Finance Department of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), said a press release by the LG Office on Monday.

The official release further mentioned that the promotion includes 13 Senior Accounts Officers, presently working as Deputy Controller of Accounts on an ad hoc basis, who have now been regularised for this post in Pay Level 11 with effect from October 4, 2023.Apart from this, 14 other senior accounts officers will also be promoted to the post of Deputy Controller of Accounts on a regular basis, with immediate effect, said the official statement.

It is to be noted that LG Saxena, ever since taking over, has been stressing timely promotions for government employees and ending the system of ad-hocism in appointments as well as promotions, added the official statement.It is to be noted that according to Sub Rule-C of Rule 2 of the GNCTD Accounts Service Rules, 2012, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi is the appointing authority in respect of the Deputy Controller of Accounts, which is a Group A gazetted post, mentioned the official release.
