Samajwadi Party leader Anurag Bhadouria on Monday said that Akhilesh Yadav has the potential to become Prime Minister adding that people in Uttar Pradesh still remember development work done during the tenure of SP chief.

"Samajwadi Party workers have always wanted Akhilesh Yadav to become the Prime Minister of the country as he has the potential. Several development works were done by him when Akhilesh was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. People of Uttar Pradesh still remember him for the good works done under his tenure," Bhadouria said.

Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party over posters portraying Akhilesh Yadav as the "Future PM" Uttar Pradesh Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Danish Azad Ansari said that the opposition party is daydreaming.

"There is a saying, 'Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne'. Nobody can stop anyone from daydreaming. But one should dream as per one's capability. Under PM Modi's leadership, our country is going ahead on the path of development," Ansari said.

Pointing out that all opposition parties are busy promoting their leaders as Prime Ministerial candidates, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla called the INDIA bloc an alliance of contradiction.

"Sometimes Congress pushes the face of Rahul Gandhi, TMC pushes the face of Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and Nitish Kumar's faces are also being pushed, how many PM candidates will they have in this confusing alliance?"

"INDI alliance is a unique alliance, it has no mission and vision for the country. There is only confusion, contradiction and thirst for ambition. First Congress and Samajwadi Party were fighting over seats in Madhya Pradesh. Now they were fighting over the PM post though there is no vacancy for the PM post," he added.

Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that putting up posters is not an issue and

"This is not an issue. People keep putting up posters. Sometimes, they portray me as 'Krishna' or Arjuna', this has no meaning," Tejashwi Yadav said.

Earlier today, several posters portraying Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav as the "future Prime Minister" were put up outside the party headquarters in Lucknow by the party workers. (ANI)
