Indian Army organises artificial limb fitment camp in Kashmir's Budgam

Indian Army with Jaipur based NGO, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), organised a three days artificial limb fitment camp for differently abled persons at Budgam's Sharifabad.

According to statement, a team of prosthetics technical staff provided their services that assessed the amputees and fitted artificial limbs to 196 beneficiaries. Differently abled persons benefitted from the camp in overcoming their physical limitations and becoming self-reliant.

Beneficiaries were provided with 8 artificial prosthetic limbs, 58 calipers, 14 pairs crutches, 6 basic mechanical hands,19-wheel chairs and 44 hearing aids, it said.

The camp was organized for three days. On second and third day the same team of doctors and technicians which had examined the requirements, fitted the prepared artificial limbs to the differently abled individuals.

The locals praised the efforts of the Jaipur based NGO, BMVSS and of Indian Army in facilitating and organising this benevolent and humane outreach in improving the lives of differently abled of North Kashmir. (ANI)
