After the Congress party released its second list for the Rajasthan assembly elections, fielding state minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines, the latter on Sunday said that the decision of the party to name him was "pre-decided".

Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has been named as the party candidate from the Civil Lines seat in the second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls.

Speaking to ANI, the Congress leader said that his party will fight the election on the basis of 'Ram Rajya'.

"Getting the ticket was already decided, but the wait was for the list, which is decided by the party. Now, we will fight elections on the basis of Ram Rajya, development, and the welfare of the people," Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said.

Rajastan will go to the polls for 200 seats on November 25.

The counting of votes will take place on December 3, coinciding with the other four states: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

Congress on Sunday also released its second list of 43 candidates for Rajasthan Assembly elections, naming state ministers Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, and Govind Ram Meghwal.

It has fielded Govind Ram Meghwal from Khajuwala, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines and Parsadi Lal Meena from Lolsot.

Besides, Congress has fielded former Chief Secretary of Rajasthan Niranjan Arya from the Sojat constituency. He is considered a close associate of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Among other Congress leaders, the second list includes Vishvendra Singh, Raghu Sharma and Sanyam Lodha.

In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP won 73 seats in the 200-member house. Ashok Gehlot came to power with the support of BSP MLAs and independents. (ANI)
