Attending the International Dance and Music Festival at Chandigarh University here on Sunday, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi said such events help in the development of culture.
Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the festival, she said that singers and dancers from India and abroad have arrived here and will spread their culture through their performances. "This is a very good initiative.This programme makes true PM Modi's mantra of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', which is quite commendable," the Union Minister said. She added that the dance and music of different countries tell us about their cultures and "prove very helpful in the development of some cultures". Responding to Canada shutting down visa consultant services in Chandigarh, Bangauru, and Mumbai amid the diplomatic row between the two countries, Lekhi said, "We are Indians, and India comes first; it will not have much impact".
