Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said that more investment will come into the state if there is proper implementation of law and order.

Addressing the Police Remembrance Day programme at Martyrs' Park in Bengaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, "There will be more investment when the law and order is properly implemented in the state. This will increase job creation and speed up development. As a result, the per capita income of the people in the country will also increase."

Pointing out that fake news is creating unrest in the society, Siddaramaiah said, "With the advancement of technology, the police department is facing new challenges. Cyber crimes are increasing along with cyber technology. This should be stopped effectively."

On the occasion, the Chief Minister instructed police officials that action should be taken against those spreading fake news.

"False and hateful news is harmful to the country's GDP; the per capita income of the people is also affected as a result of unrest. Therefore, strict legal action should be taken against the websites that spread fake news and those who operate them," he said.

He further made multiple announcements for the benefit of the police personnel in the state.

"Rs 450 crores will be provided to construct 2125 houses for police personnel. A fixed deposit is kept for the health and treatment of retired staff. 7 police public schools are being started in seven districts for the education of police personnel's children.
