PN Mahesh of Putillath Mana in Enanallur near Muvattupuzha has been appointed as melshanthi (chief priest) of Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple in Kerala.
P G Murali of Poongat Mana near Guruvayur has been selected as chief priest of the adjacent Malikappuram Devi temple in Sabarimala. Mahesh P N is currently working as the chief priest of Paramekavu temple in Thrissur and P G Murali is currently working in Ayyappa Swami temple, Hyderabad. Travancore Devaswam Board has selected the chief priests through a draw of lots from the panel of priests shortlisted. They will be appointed for a term of one year. This year's Sabarimala pilgrim season will start on 17 November 2023. (ANI)
