An FIR has been registered against Aam Aadmi Party's Chhatarpur candidate Bhagirath Patel for holding a meeting without permission and violating the Modal Code of Conduct.

Revenue Officer Rajesh Wabele said, "In Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, AAP's Chhatarpur candidate Bhagirath Patel was addressing the general meeting at Hotel Tulsa Inn without administrative permission. A person complained on C Vigil, after which the Revenue Inspector with his team reached the hotel and while investigating, found that a meeting was held without permission. An FIR was registered against Aam Aadmi Party's Chhatarpur Assembly candidate Bhagirath Patel and hotel operator Dilip Sharma. Besides, the hotel can also be sealed after the orders of a senior officer. Section 144 is being strictly enforced ahead of the polls."

According to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), no political party or leader can hold meetings or programmes of a political nature without a nod from the Election Commission or the police department.

Madhya Pradesh is scheduled to undergo assembly polls on November 17. Through the polls, the state will elect legislators from 230 Assembly constituencies. The election would be conducted in one phase in the state and the counting would be done on December 3. (ANI)
