Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Sunday distributed clothes to the economically weaker sections of Bardowali Assembly constituency ahead of Durga Puja.

Addressing the ceremony, CM Saha said, "An atmosphere of peace, and harmony is essential for development in the state. That's what people want."

The Chief Minister participated in the clothes distribution program in wards 33, 39 and 40 of Bardowali Assembly Constituency.

CM Saha is also the MLA of Bardowali Assembly Constituency.

In the event, the Chief Minister said that the present government wants to move forward with people from all parts of the state. One of the goals of the government is to improve the socio-economic conditions of the common people. The government is working in that direction. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly to take the country forward.

"On the occasion of G-20, PM Modi presented India as a global guru to everyone. Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed on the lunar surface. He has managed to establish India as a strong state. We are very happy to have such a Prime Minister. PM Modi has a watchful eye on everything, be it from the security side or from the social side or for the development of the country," CM Saha said.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has given special attention to the development of North Eastern states through the Act East Policy.

He said, "The development of the country is not possible without the development of the North Eastern region. He gave us the diamond model. As a result, national highways, internet, rail connectivity and air connectivity are improving in the state. The state is now developing in all directions. About 17 express trains are now plying from Tripura. Rail communication will also be done with Bangladesh."

"The opening of the alliance bridge at Sabrum will make the region one of the gateways to South East Asia. There will be a special economic zone. Investors from outside are now coming to Tripura," CM Saha added.

The Chief Minister said that the government wants to put smiles on the faces of all people.

"Development is the main goal of this government. Earlier only 700 rupees social allowance was given. But after this government came, that allowance was increased to two thousand rupees. 30 thousand more people will be given a social allowance. And this is the result of the government's efforts. Currently, the women of the state are becoming financially independent through self-help groups," he said. (ANI)
