Devotees Flock to Kaithal's 700-Year-Old Badi Devi Temple on Navratri

As the nine-day festival of Navratri commenced on Sunday, devotees from far and wide converged upon various temples to offer their prayers and seek blessings.

Among these sacred sites, the age-old temple in Kaithal, Haryana, witnessed a significant influx of devotees, as they came together to mark the beginning of this auspicious festival.

Sharadiya Navratri of Goddess Durga started today with great devotion and enthusiasm.

Early in the morning, a large number of male and female devotees started arriving at the ancient Badi Devi temple and other temples of Kaithal to worship the goddess.

Pandit Shiv Charan, chief priest of the Badi Devi temple of Kaithal and Pandit Vinayak of Chhoti Devi temple mentioned that there is immense devotion and enthusiasm among the devotees.

The Kaithal temples are magnificently decked in honour of Sharadiya Navratri.

The priest of Kaithal temple said that "the historical ancient Badi Devi temple of Kaithal has great recognition, on the day of Navratri, devotees from far away places come to worship Hinglaj Mata"

He underscored that devotees fast for nine days with complete purity and worship Goddess Durga wholeheartedly.

Haryana's 700-year-old 'Badi Devi' temple is known to be of great value to the devotees. People from far-flung places come and offer prayers during the holy festival of Navratri.

The festival of Navratri is celebrated with huge fervour across the country. Prominent leaders of the country including PM Narendra Modi extended their wishes to the countrymen on this auspicious occasion.

"May Shakti Pradayini Maa Durga bring happiness, prosperity, good fortune and good health in everyone's life. Jai Mata Di!" PM Modi posted on X

The festival of Shardiya Navratri, which falls in the month of Ashwin, is celebrated with great pomp across the country. During this 9-day festival, nine forms of Goddess Durga are also worshipped. (ANI)
