As the objectionable photos of a schoolgirl from a reputed private school here went viral on social media, the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) on Friday said that the case is "sensitive and serious".
Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR said, "This case is sensitive and serious... First, we have asked for the reports from the concerned school and police station... Second, our team visited the school. The school is cooperative... They are talking to the students and parents. The moment the complaint was filed, the police department registered an FIR." She said that the matter comes under the jurisdiction of Cyber Cell. Meanwhile, Chandigarh Police stepped in and launched a probe as soon as they received a complaint in the matter. As per the police, the parents of the girl lodged a complaint regarding the incident. "We received information about photos of a girl being morphed and going viral on social media," DSP Ram Gopal, PRO Chandigarh Police said. Further information is awaited. (ANI)
