Amid AAP protests against the arrest of Sanjay Singh by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, and the extension of his remand, BJP leader Ajay Alok on Wednesday hit out at the ruling party in the national capital, calling it the "Aam Anarchist Party".

While labelling the AAP as a party of thieves, the BJP leader accused the Congress of being its "chaudhary" (head).

Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, the BJP leader said, "The court extended his (Sanjay Singh's) remand by three more days as it held that he was hiding something (pertaining to the liquor policy case). The fact that he is not cooperating with the agency shows that he has something to hide. The truth may not come out today or tomorrow but it will surely come out soon. This is the Aam Anarchist Party, it is a party of thieves."

Also taking a swipe at other Opposition forces, he called them "seasonal parties".

"They (Opposition alliance) are like children eager to show off their new clothes. When it rains, frogs come out. Similarly, when elections come around, these parties and leaders suddenly get proactive," Alok said.

"Muh me Ram, Bagal me chhuri, yahi hai INDIA alliance ki dhuri (They have Lord Ram on their lips but conceal knives under their armpits. This is what the INDIA bloc is all about)," he added.

Also lashing out at the Trinamool Congress, the ruling party in West Bengal which recently held protests in the national capital alleging that the Centre was withholding funds for the MGNREGA scheme in the state, Alok said, "When the Congress was in power at the Centre, people in West Bengal were not enlisted under MGNREGA. The failure to implement the scheme properly counts as one of the biggest drawbacks of the Congress government till 2014. We ensured that workers enlisted under MGNREGA had their wages transferred directly to their bank accounts," he added.

"If Rahul Gandhi had taken a moment to reflect on where the Congress has come since 2014, he would have understood his party's prospects going into next year's Lok Sabha elections. Why is the Congress's seat count coming to triple digits?" he questioned. (ANI)
