Akhilesh Yadav pays tribute to former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav on his first death anniversary

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav paid tribute to the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on his first death anniversary on Tuesday.

Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav and other members of the family also reached at the Samadhi of Mulayam Singh Yadav at Saifai, Etawah and paid tribute to him.

SP leader Dharmendra Yadav got emotional remembering his uncle, Mulayam Singh on his death anniversary.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, a former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, had founded the Samajwadi Party. He died on October 10, last year, at the age of 82. He was elected 10 times to the Uttar Pradesh assembly and seven times to Lok Sabha and was popularly known as 'Netaji'.

Mulayam Singh Yadav's name was featured in this year's Padma Awards announced by the government on the eve of Republic Day.

Mulayam Singh Yadav was conferred the Padma Vibhushan posthumously by President Droupadi Murmu and the award was received by his son Akhilesh Yadav.

Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian honour in the country. (ANI)
