J-K: Anand Jain, IPS, takes over as IGP Jammu

Taking up a new assignment with the Government of India, IPS officer Anand Jain assumed charge as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Jammu, relieving IPS Mukesh Singh who was Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of the same zone, said a press release on Monday.

The official statement further mentioned that Anand Jain is an IPS officer of the 1999 batch of J-K cadre and was earlier posted as Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, J-K.

"Prior to that, he had held various important posts in J-K as well as during deputation which includes Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ganderbal SP East Srinagar, SSP Baramulla (twice), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Provision/Transport PHQ, SSP Reasi, SSP Rajouri, SSP Jammu, Commandant, India Reserve 15th Battalion and multiple other posts," said the press release.

The official release further informed that a warm send-off was given to outgoing ADGP Jammu Zone, IPS Mukesh Singh, by the staff members of Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ), said the official statement.

During the sending-off ceremony, DIG JSK Range highlighted the outstanding contribution made by ADGP Singh during his more than four years of posting as Zonal Head, added the official statement. (ANI)
