The Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW), under the Ministry of Defence, is leading the charge in improving government record management, increasing transparency, and fostering a sustainable future through its participation in the 'Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 3.0'.

As part of this campaign, DESW has identified the removal of pending matters and the enhancement of cleanliness as top priorities, read the Ministry of Defence press release.

The objectives of this campaign is to streamline government files and eliminate obsolete ones, ultimately leading to better work efficiencies.

The Special Campaign 3.0 seeks to establish cleanliness and the removal of pendency as not just one-time best practices but as integral components of day-to-day operations, read the press release.

DESW has undertaken a comprehensive review of the campaign, focusing on the Ministry of Defence and its associated departments, attached offices, and subordinate offices.

Over 500 files have been earmarked for review and disposal, contributing to the campaign's overarching goals.

This initiative is not limited to one region; it encompasses a pan-India approach. Remote sites and offices, along with those experiencing high public engagement, such as Zila Sainik Boards, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Polyclinics, and Zonal Resettlement Offices, are actively participating in the campaign, read the press release.

Recognized Ex-Servicemen Associations are also playing a pivotal role by organizing cleanliness drives that include Swachhata rallies, efforts to reduce single-use plastic, and communal area cleanups in various locations.

The campaign will document best practices and acknowledge significant contributions made by individuals and organizations, read the release.

By emphasizing pendency reduction and cleanliness, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare aims to create a more efficient and transparent environment while honouring the principles of sustainable governance.

This campaign reinforces the commitment of the Ministry of Defence to its mission and to the welfare of ex-servicemen across India. (ANI)
