Four people were arrested for an alleged gangrape of a woman in Bihar's Patna, said the police on Sunday.

Meanwhile, two more accused are on the run.

"Yesterday, at around 11 p.m., we got the information about the gangrape of a woman in the Maner area in Patna under the Danapur police station here. Acting upon the information, our teams immediately rescued the woman", said Abhinav Dhiman, Assistant Police Commissioner, Patna.

"The victim told us that when she had gone to purchase vegetables on yesterday evening, a man named Saroj came to her and tried to woo her. Later, he made her smell an intoxicating substance due to which, she lost consciousness. Later, she was taken near the Chitnawa dam here in Patna where she was gangraped by the man, along with five others", the ACP added.

Further, the ACP said, "Taking an immediate action, the police arrested four of the accused while two others are on the run".

The arrested accused were identified as Golu Kumar, Saroj Kumar, Satyendra Kumar and Sonu Kumar, he added.

Meanwhile, a probe is underway to nab the two other accused.
