Fire broke out in the D H Pora forest range of the union territory's Kulgam district on Sunday morning.
Visuals show local people carrying out fire suppression to stop the spread of the blaze. The forest was engulfed in thick fumes of smoke. In an attempt to reduce the spread of the fire, the locals were seen scraping the partially burned sticks and logs to make sure all the hot embers were off them.
