The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) spearheaded a massive nationwide cleanliness drive on October 1, 2023, as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign.'

This initiative, named 'Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath,' brought together ESIC offices and hospitals to promote cleanliness and hygiene, read the Ministry of Labour and Employment press release.

Rajendra Kumar, Director General of ESIC, inaugurated the campaign by participating in a cleanliness drive at a public park in Rohini, Delhi. Employees, doctors, and staff from ESIC Hospital in Rohini, along with the general public, joined the Director General in this community effort, read the press release.

The campaign extended to field offices and hospitals, where cleanliness drives were conducted in high-footfall areas such as hospitals, labour colonies, slums, bus stands, riverfronts, ghats, drains, and waterways.

The 'Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath' campaign, organized by ESIC, garnered mass participation and received support from dignitaries across the country, read the press release.

Notable participants included Dhananjay Mahadik, MP in Maharashtra; Kirit Premjibhai Solanki, MP in Ahmedabad; and Prasanna Earnest, Mayor of the Kollam Municipal Corporation in Kerala, among others.

Emphasizing the significance of cleanliness as an integral part of life and encouraging public participation, ESIC observed a two-week 'Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign' from September 15 to October 1, across all its 116 Regional Offices, Sub-Regional Offices, Medical Colleges, and Hospitals.

The campaign aimed to instill the values of cleanliness and hygiene in the community, fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for all. (ANI)
