Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi in Jaipur stating that people should take inspiration from his life. Earlier, he also made an appeal to PM Modi to study Rajasthan Government's schemes and apply them at the Centre.

"I extend my greetings to everyone on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Gandhi ji will be remembered for centuries... Our country should be proud that our Gandhi ji is one of the greatest leaders of the world and is remembered in every corner. People should take inspiration from his life," CM Gehlot said.

Earlier, CM Gehlot said "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming but it would be better if he gives a guarantee that the schemes of Rajasthan will be implemented in the entire country, along with this he should also guarantee that if the government changes in the state, he will not stop our schemes."

Addressing reporters in Bikaner, CM Gehlot said, "We appeal to the Prime Minister that we have so many good schemes, you should study them. Whatever scheme you like, implement it in the country. If we can give insurance, Old Pension scheme then why can't centre."

Gehlot said that he needs RGHS, Social Security should be implemented, insurance of Rs 25 lakh should be guaranteed, OPS should be implemented, If needed we will send our officers so that they can implement the schemes.

Gehlot reiterated that today there is a need to implement social security in the country.

CM Gehlot further mentioned that all promises and the schemes that were announced in the run-up to the elections will be implemented."We have experienced that our schemes were stopped as soon as the government changed. Our one guarantee is that not a single scheme of ours will be stopped, which is currently underway," CM said.

Meanwhile at a rally in Chittorgarh Prime Minister Narendra Modi mounted an all out attack on the Gehlot government questioning its record on crime prevention in the state.

"What happened in Udaipur was not even imagined by anyone... People come on the pretext of getting clothes stitched and cut the throats of tailors without any fear or dread... Congress saw a vote bank even in this case. I want to ask Congress, what did the Congress party do during the Udaipur tailor killing, they played vote-bank politics?"the Prime Minister said.

Rajasthan is one of the five states to go to polls later this year. In 2018 Ashok Gehlot formed the government with the help of independents and 5 BSP MLAs. (ANI)
