Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign: BSF troops participate in nationwide cleanliness drive

On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nationwide participation in a cleanliness drive on October 1, BSF troops (Seema Praharis), led by Nitin Agrawal, IPS, DG BSF, came together with civilians to clean up railway tracks, bus stands, tourist locations, market places, roadsides, under bridges, ghats, etc. at various locations of the country, according to a press release by the BSF.

As a contribution from Seema Praharis in this nationwide cleanliness drive, around 100 km of railway tracks, 200 km of roadsides, and 322 sites of market-places, tourist locations, bus stands, under bridges, ghats, etc. were cleaned.

Around 27,000 Seema Praharis and 57,000 volunteers participated in the mega cleanliness drive all over India.

Seema Praharis, led by Shri Nitin Agrawal, IPS, DG BSF, and 500 officers and troops, participated in the cleanliness drive near Humayuns Tomb, Sunder Nursery, Gurudwara Damdama Sahib, New Delhi, from 1000 hrs onwards, the release stated.

According to the press release, cleanliness drives were also organised at various places in Delhi, NCR, including the area around the passport office in Sector 1, RK Puram, Ayyappa Temple, Saheed Kunwar Pal Singh Raghav GSS School and surrounding area, Bhondsi, Gurgaon, and in areas around PHC Chawwla.
