Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday slammed the PM for not providing necessary assistance to Palamuru irrigation projects in Telangana.
KTR in a post on X, criticised PM Modi for questioning the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led government in 2014 in connection with the projects and further questioned the Prime Minister on the project. Back in 2014, you had questioned the UPA Govt about their indifferent attitude towards Palamuru irrigation projects and asked if they were sleeping for 10 years! Today, after seeing 10 years of BJP's apathy towards Mahbubnagar, I want to show the mirror to you What assistance did you give to Palamuru irrigation projects in the last 10 years? A Big ZERO. Thats exactly the number of seats your party will be given by the people of Telangana, he said in the post. KTR also shared a video of PM Modis speech from 2014 in which he is seen questioning the UPA government over the welfare projects. Earlier this week, KTR slammed the Congress party for resorting to implausible promises in an attempt to deceive the people of Telangana into voting for it. He said that the Congress party, which has been in existence for 150 years, has essentially become obsolete and compared it to a lifeless skeleton. PM Modi is scheduled to visit the state today and lay the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,500 crore. Around 2:15 PM, Prime Minister will reach Mahabubnagar district, where he will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,500 crore, in important sectors like road, rail, petroleum and natural gas and higher education. Prime Minister will also inaugurate five new buildings of the University of Hyderabad i.e, School of Economics; School of Mathematics and Statistics; School of Management Studies; Lecture Hall Complex III; and Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication (Annexe).
