The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Friday took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Uttar Pradesh government for its alleged negligence in healthcare services by posting a message on 'X' with the hashtag "Double engine disaster".

The phrase 'Double Engine Government' is often used by the BJP ahead of state assembly elections referring to a model where governance is smoothened by the presence of the same party at the state as well as the Center.

"Negligence in healthcare services reaches its peak in BJP-led Uttar Pradesh!" the TMC said in a post in 'X'.

The TMC highlighted an incident in Lucknow where a 17-year-old girl passed away allegedly after receiving a wrong injection. The party also said that the family of the deceased alleged that the medical staff abandoned the body on a motorcycle and fled the scene.

"Allegedly, in Lucknow, a 17-year-old girl passed away due to receiving a wrong injection. The family of the deceased alleged that the medical staff abandoned the body on a motorcycle and fled the scene," the TMC added in the post.

In a swipe aimed at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the TMC said, "CM @myogiadityanath's disastrous model of governance is claiming lives, yet SILENCE remains his only RESPONSE!" (ANI)
