Madhya Pradesh Mahila Congress leaders and workers on Thursday staged a protest in the state capital Bhopal, and demanded the resignation of State Home Minister Narottam Mishra over the Ujjain minor rape incident.

Mahila Congress district president Santosh Kansana said, Congress has protested in view of increasing crime against women in the state. There are many such incidents that do not even come to light because they are not heard in the police station. Where is the Home Minister? The Home Minister should resign from his post. The Chief Minister should take cognizance. This is a government of dumb, deaf and robbers. There is no focus on women. These are the same women who will throw them away from power, she added. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Culture and Tourism Minister Usha Thakur said that the government and the administration were doing their work and the law of Madhya Pradesh was very strict.
