Polling officer and team attacked in Karnataka's Ramanagara, ballot papers stolen

An election official and his team who were on their way to the polling booth for the election of the director of the Milk Producers Union in Ramanagara district were attacked and robbed, police said.

According to the Superintendent of police, the incident took place while the officer and his team were on their way to the polling booth for the elections of Hullenahalli milk producers cooperative society in Ramanagara district on Wednesday.

The police official said that 250 ballot papers and two laptops were robbed from them in this incident.

"Four accused have been identified and a case has been registered against them for obstruction of government work and attempted murder," said police.

Elections for the post of director for the Hullenahalli Milk Producers Cooperative Association took place after 23 years.

Further investigation into the matter is underway. (ANI)
