Launching a stinging attack on the Centre, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday said, that if the people want to protect the future, then this government needs to be changed.

Taking to X, Kharge wrote, "42.3% of India's graduates below the age of 25 are unemployed. The Modi government has robbed them of their future by keeping them jobless. The promise of 2 million jobs per year echoes like a cruel joke in the hearts and minds of our youth. The process from graduation to getting a job is a sad story of daily struggle. Pity that instead of acknowledging their failure, the BJP has turned a blind eye to this looming disaster."

He further said that the government, which could not create employment in 10 years, will never be able to do so in the future.

Phrases like 'Amrit Kaal' have only rubbed salt into the wounds of our youth! The youth need to now take matters into their own hands and hold the government accountable for their plight. They better know that a government that cannot create employment in 10 years will never be able to do so. To protect the future, change this government! Kharge added in his post.

Kharge's remark comes as Rajya Sabha passed the Women's Reservation Bill on Thursday.

Earlier on the second day of the Special Session, Kharge slammed PM Modi-led Central government in Parliament and said that the federal structure is getting weakened under PM Modi's rule.

Addressing the Rajya Sabha in the new Parliament building, Mallikarjun Kharge said," Under your rule (the Centre), the federal structure is getting weakened day by day. You talk about strengthening the federal structure, but look at what happened in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. States are not getting GST and MGNREGA funds, and agriculture and irrigation departments are not getting grants. You work on uprooting governments in the states. (ANI)
