IT raids across various locations in Tamil Nadu related to contractors and suppliers of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) in relation to providing equipment, according to sources.

Raids are being conducted at around 10 places in Chennai, including raids at India Private Limited and Radha Engineering Works Private Limited, sources said.

This raid comes amid Senthil Balaji's Bail petition in an alleged cash-for-jobs scam case which is being heard in the court today. Senthil Balaji was the former TNEB Minister.

Earlier in September, the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on a close aide of Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji, who is an accused in an alleged cash-for-jobs scam, sources said.

Around 10 premises of the unnamed aide of the minister were raided in Tamil Nadu, sources said.

Balaji was arrested by ED officials on June 14 in connection with the cash-for-jobs scam. He was produced in the MP/MLAs Special Court in Chennai.

The special court for MP/MLAs has extended Balaji's judicial custody and an order on his bail plea is expected on Wednesday. In the previous hearing the court handed over a copy of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) chargesheet to the arrested DMK minister. (ANI)
