Inebriated man arrested for damaging idol outside temple in Delhi

A person under the influence of alcohol damaged an idol in Delhis Sangam Vihar, according to police.

The Delhi Police received a PCR call from Shreepal Singh (48), a resident of Sangam Vihar, stating that a statue in a temple in south Delhi's Sangam Vihar area was damaged by an unknown person, according to the police.

On the basis of technical surveillance, the alleged person was apprehended by the police.

He was found 500 metres away from the place of occurrence, under the influence of alcohol.

The apprehended identified as Sarvesh (33), is a resident of the locality.

A case has been registered under sections 153, 295, 295A, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). (ANI)
