Jamia university Vice Chancellor Najma Akhtar honored with lifetime achievement award in academia

Professor Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri has been bestowed with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award-Academia'.

Dr Raghunath Anant Mashelkar, a distinguished Padma Vibhushan awardee, presented the award to Professor Akhtar at an illustrious ceremony held on Friday here, a release said.

This recognition was part of the Grand Conference and Award Function titled "Making India Employable," organised by TeamLease EdTech.

A panel of educationists and industry experts convened to select Professor Akhtar for this accolade in recognition of her outstanding contributions towards bridging the gap between education and employment, the release said.
