J-K: Independence Day celebrations near LoC villages showcase unity, cultural diversity

A remarkable Independence Day celebration was held on Tuesday for the locals and students at Government School Nambla B near the Line of Control (LoC) in the border town of Uri in north Kashmirs Baramulla district.

It was organised by the Rustam Battalion of Pir Panjal Brigade with the support of locals.

The event captivated attendees with a blend of tradition, discipline, and cultural diversity.

The event began with a flag-hoisting ceremony and later commenced with school faculty, students, and community members gathering at the school premises.

The march past by school students showcased perfect synchronization and unwavering discipline. The sight of them marching together embodied the spirit of cooperation and commitment towards the nations progress.

Highlighting the cultural mosaic of India, the school students presented captivating performances that ranged from performances filled with patriotic fervour, folk dance and melodious music.

Officials said that each performance was a testament to the countrys rich heritage and the unity that binds its diverse cultures.

We express our sincere gratitude towards Rustam Battalion for providing all the necessary assistance in organising the Independence Day Celebrations at our school, said Mohammad Abbas Dhar, Principal of the school.

He praised the students enthusiasm and the Indian Armys dedication.

The Independence Day celebrations at Nambla witnessed a footfall of around 1000 people including village representatives, students and teaching staff from various schools making it a blend of unity and national pride.

As a prelude to the celebration, Rustam Battalion distributed national flags to various schools aimed at fostering patriotism, and unity and instilling a sense of pride and love for our country amongst the students.

They also conducted a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Nand Singh (NS) War Memorial to honour the sacrifices of the brave soldiers who have selflessly defended the nations sovereignty and fought for its freedom. (ANI)
