With special emphasis on public policy and governance, the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) started a 'policy, research and training division'.

The first-ever meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha's (BJYM) Policy, Research and Training (PRT) division's all India office bearers was held on Wednesday.

Lok Sabha member and BJYM national president Tejasvi Surya presided over the meeting and explained the objectives and relevance of the division.

Surya mentioned that under the guidance of BJP chief JP Nadda and senior leadership, this is the first time ever that the morcha has floated a policy, research and training division with special emphasis on public policy and governance.

Surya emphasised on building the capacity of the karyakartas (workers) to engage in governance and policy making activities and have a constructive approach while interacting with the common people on the ground.

"The division will assist the government with innovative ideas and feedback from the ground on the policy inputs. The PRT is functioning under the supervision of top leadership who take periodic meetings and follow up the activities of the division," Surya said.

National in-charge of the PRT division of BJYM, Varun Jhaveri said that most of the states have now appointed a dedicated PRT in-charge and are now directed to make teams of policy professionals and experts at the state and district level.

The PRT division is first time introduced in the morcha (wing) with a full-fledged setup to assist the party with quality research inputs and legislative interventions.

The division will appoint policy experts and professionals with relevant experience to assist the party in various activities of the division.

Lok Sabha member and BJYM national general secretary Raju Bista and others attended the meeting.
