Kartik Aaryan has shared his first social media update after undergoing knee surgery following an injury on the sets of filmmaker Kabir Khan's upcoming sports drama.

The actor suffered the injury while shooting an action sequence for the film. He later underwent surgery at a Mumbai hospital and is now recovering at home.

Taking to Instagram, Kartik gave fans a glimpse of his recovery, sharing pictures and videos from his time in the hospital as well as moments from his training for the film. In one of the pictures, the actor can be seen wearing a knee brace on his injured leg, while another image had the words, "Foot out of service."

Kartik also shared a black-and-white picture from what appeared to be a Mumbai hospital. The photo showed him sitting on a hospital bed with IV cannulas in his left hand.

Along with the post, Kartik used a reference to his director Kabir Khan and wrote, "Kabir sir said - Break a leg."

Kabir Khan reacted to the actor's post with a light-hearted comment, joking about Kartik taking his words too seriously. He wrote, "HaHaha Bhai Har baat itni seriously mat sunna karo (Brother, don't take everything so seriously)."

Kartik's spokesperson had earlier confirmed that the actor had undergone surgery after suffering the injury during an action sequence. The spokesperson said that the surgery was completed successfully and that Kartik had returned home to rest and recover.

"Kartik Aaryan sustained a knee injury while performing an action sequence on the set of his film. His surgery was completed successfully, and he is now back home, resting and recovering. He will be back on set soon," his spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Kartik recently won the Best Actor in a Leading Role award at the 72nd National Film Awards (announced on July 18, 2026) for his portrayal of India's first Paralympic Gold Medalist Murlikant Petkar in the biographical sports drama Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan.
