Singer Shaan is back lending his voice to Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan after a gap of 19 years, describing the reunion as special given the long-standing association between his voice and the actor's on-screen persona.

Shaan's latest collaboration with Saif is for 'Haiwaan', with the singer expressing his excitement over the response to the song. Reflecting on the reunion, Shaan, while speaking to ANI, shared, "I've had a special connection with Saif over the years. Lately on social media, there's also a thing that one of the best matches is Shaan's voice on Saif's. So, it has finally happened after 2007. That is something that I feel very excited about, and the song is being loved so much, so it's nice."

"I feel very indebted to Pritam-da that he finally said, 'No, let's get Shaan to sing for him,'" the singer added as he credited music composer Pritam for having him on board.

The singer recalled a particularly successful phase of their collaboration, when songs featuring his voice for Saif repeatedly became chartbusters. Shaan noted that their association was "a bull run back-to-back. Every song I was singing for Saif was a chartbuster. They became timeless hits. And then it just stopped suddenly. So yes, it's quite a long time."

Shaan explained that his vocal tone naturally complements the actor's.

"I wasn't even trying to match Saif's voice so much. But it's just I think I have a tone that matches his," he said.

Beyond 'Haiwaan', Shaan shared how his collaborative tracks with Saif Ali Khan have played an unusual role in his live performances.

"I have a whole section on my live shows where I talk about the four stages of love. And all the songs are songs that are actually picturised on Saif Ali Khan. So there's 'Woh Ladki Hai Kahan' when you're looking for someone. Then when you find someone, it's 'Kuch Toh Hua Hai'. And then when you have a little tiff, you sing 'Woh Ladki Kyun Na Jaane Kyun'. And finally, when everything becomes good, then 'My Dil Goes Mmm' and 'Hey Shona' happen," he said, referring to his latest 'Haiwaan' song, which follows the bond between a father and child.

The song 'Mera Hero Hai Woh' from 'Haiwaan' is composed by Pritam and sung by Shaan and Vanika Nayak. The lyrics were penned by Javed Akhtar.

The song offered a glimpse of the bond shared between Saif Ali Khan's character and Pahal Chaudhary (the little girl), signifying the father-daughter bond in the film. In the video, Saif Ali Khan was seen fulfilling his fatherly duties for Pahal despite facing the challenge of being blind.
