Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) | July 15, 2026 8:26:29 PM IST
The Ayodhya Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF), a not-for-profit charitable organisation incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, and an associate organisation of the NAMO Cancer Care Foundation (NCCF), on Wednesday, announced the completion of documentation work for the establishment of a proposed 150-bed comprehensive cancer hospital in Ayodhya.

The Gift Deed formalising the donation of six acres of land for the hospital will be executed on July 29 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.

The hospital is being developed as part of the NAMO Cancer Access Network, NCCF's countrywide initiative to strengthen cancer care infrastructure and expand access to affordable, highquality treatment.

In an act of exceptional generosity and public service, Yatindra Mohan Pratap Mishra, son of Late Raja Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, together with his uncle Shailendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, younger brother of Late Raja Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, donated six acres of land in Ayodhya for the establishment of the hospital.

The land is being gifted free of cost and free of any encumbrance, in revered memory of Late Raja Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, to the Ayodhya Cancer Care Foundation, which will oversee the end-to-end execution of the project and will maintain and operate the facility. The signing of the Gift Deed will be graced by the spirit of Guru Purnima, a day dedicated to reverence, gratitude and the tradition of selfless giving -- a moment when the erstwhile Royal Family of Ayodhya reaffirms its enduring commitment to alleviating the pain and suffering of the people of Ayodhya and to the welfare of the region.

Special prayers will be offered at the temple of the erstwhile Royal Family of Ayodhya to mark the occasion.

"This hospital is a tribute to my father's memory and to the values he lived by -- compassion, service and care for those in need," said Yatindra Mohan Pratap Mishra, as per a press release.

"Cancer touches countless families across the region, often forcing them to travel great distances for treatment. It is our family's earnest hope that this institution will bring world-class, affordable, and dignified cancer care closer to home, in the sacred land of Ayodhya. On a personal note, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, whose invaluable guidance and encouragement have made this noble endeavour possible. His vision of a healthy and self-reliant Uttar Pradesh continues to inspire us, and it is in that spirit that our family has been privileged to come forward with this humble contribution," he added.

The proposed hospital is envisioned as a state-of-the-art comprehensive oncology facility providing accessible, affordable, and high quality cancer treatment to the people of Ayodhya.

In addition to Ayodhya, the hospital is expected to benefit the people of the adjoining districts of Gonda, Bahraich, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Basti, Shravasti and Pratapgarh.

Subject to statutory approvals and the completion of construction, the hospital is expected to be fully commissioned and operational in approximately 24 months. The project reflects the shared vision of the erstwhile Royal Family of Ayodhya and the wider mission of the NAMO Cancer Care Foundation to strengthen cancer care infrastructure across the country.

The Foundation expresses its deep gratitude to the family for their munificent contribution and their commitment to the fight against cancer, which will benefit the region and the State of Uttar Pradesh as a whole. The project is being advanced under the NAMO Cancer Access Network, NCCF's initiative to strengthen cancer care infrastructure across the country. (ANI)
