Diane Warren is taking her latest Oscar loss in stride, posting on social media after the ceremony: "Well at least I'm consistent! And I set a new record tonite!! But U know me, I will be back if you'll have me!!!"

Taking to social media after the ceremony, Warren wrote, "Well at least I'm consistent! And I set a new record tonite!! But U know me, I will be back if you'll have me!!!"

Warren was nominated in the Best Original Song category for "Dear Me," a ballad performed by Kesha for the documentary 'Diane Warren: Relentless about her life,' according to Variety.

With the latest loss, Warren has now received 17 nominations at the Oscars without winning a competitive award.

Despite the record, Warren is not entirely Oscar-less. She received an honorary award at the Governors Awards 2022.

In an interview with The New York Times ahead of the ceremony, Warren said she still hopes to win a competitive Oscar.

"You know, I still haven't won the competitive one. And I'm a competitive person. It's amazing to have the honorary Oscar -- that's harder to get than the competitive. I don't take that for granted. But, yeah, I still want to win. My honorary Oscar gets really lonely. He wants a friend," she said, as per the outlet.

She added, "He hangs out with Rabbit, my cat, but he prefers to have an Oscar buddy."

Speaking about the possibility of winning, Warren said awards were not her main motivation.

"It's not validation," she said. "It would just be fun. And now I just keep beating my own record, I guess."

Before this year's ceremony, Warren had been tied with sound mixer Greg P Russell with 16 nominations without a win.

Meanwhile, the Best Original Song award this year went to "Golden" from KPop Demon Hunters, which had been widely predicted to win.

Warren already holds the record for the most nominations by a woman in the Best Original Song category. If nominated again, she could tie legendary songwriter Johnny Mercer for the second-highest number of nominations among songwriters, though the all-time record remains with Sammy Cahn with 26 nominations, according to Variety.
