"It is a big loss for our entire Bollywood fraternity": Sunny Hinduja mourns loss of actor Dharmendra

Actor Sunny Hinduja described Dharmendra's demise as a "loss" for the Bollywood fraternity. The actor passed away in Mumbai at the age of 89 on Monday.

While talking to ANI at the sidelines of IFFI 2025, Sunny Hinduja extended his condolences to the family of Dharmendra. He called it a "sad moment" for all the fans of Dharmendra.

"It is a big loss for our entire Bollywood fraternity. I think he was the pioneer of many things. We have always looked up to him. It's a very sad moment for all of us, but my heart goes out to the entire family. I wish tons and tons of love and condolences to the entire family, and to everybody for whom this is a big loss, and the entire country."

The veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha also paid an emotional tribute to his 'first hero' Dharmendra, who passed away in Mumbai on Monday.

Shatrughan shared nostalgic moments with Dharmendra on X, accompanying them with a heartfelt note, that read, "Heart broken, pained & deeply saddened by the passing away of our dearest family friend, our elder brother, people's hero, @aapkadharm."

"Most loved, son of the soil, pride of Punjab /Maharashtra a 'Bharat Ratna" in true sense, down to earth, kind & a humble human being. He will be remembered forever for his great contributions to the film industry/ cinema. A personality in totality an era of 'He Man/Star' has gone. My first 'Hero' & People's Hero' in the film industry is no more. It is an irreparable & irreplaceable loss to all of us & the entire film industry. Strength to the family, friends, well wishers & fans in these traumatic times. Om Shanti," he concluded.

Dharmendra has been a cornerstone of Indian cinema for over six decades, captivating audiences with his rugged charm, versatility, and unforgettable performances.

With a career marked by iconic roles, intense action sequences, and heartwarming romances, Dharmendra has earned his place as one of Bollywood's greatest legends.

Popularly known as the 'He-Man' of Indian Cinema, Dharmendra starred in several iconic films such as 'Sholay', 'Dharamveer', 'Chupke Chupke', 'Loafer', 'Jugnu', and 'Seeta Aur Geeta'.

Dharmendra is survived by his first wife, Prakash Kaur; his second wife, actress Hema Malini; and six children, including sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and daughters Vijeta and Ajeita from his first marriage, as well as daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol from his second marriage. (ANI)
