The clock struck midnight in Mumbai, and like every year, the streets outside Shah Rukh Khan's home, Mannat, turned into a sea of love.
The superstar turned 60 on Sunday, November 1, and, as always, fans from across the country gathered to wish their favourite actor well and hope to catch just one glimpse of the "King of Bollywood". Crowds lined the streets, holding posters and banners reading "We love you SRK" and "Happy Birthday King Khan". Fans were even seen chanting his name outside the residence. Many, in fact, travelled miles just to see their idol appear on the balcony and greet them. Among them was Prince Singh, a diehard SRK fan from Kolkata, who arrived in Mumbai with his group, the "SRK Warriors". They spent over 33 hours on a train just to get a glimpse of the star. Sharing his excitement, Prince told ANI, "I have come from Kolkata with my team, 'SRK Warriors'... We undertook a 33-hour-long train journey just to catch a glimpse of SRK. We hope he will come out today. We're sure we'll be able to see him either today or tomorrow... We somehow managed to reach here because there are thousands of people who want to come, but the police are not allowing everyone..." From playing a young soldier in Fauji to becoming one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, Shah Rukh Khan's story is one that never fails to make people smile because it's proof that dreams, when chased with heart, really can come true. Maybe that's why he's still loved by fans across generations, not just for his films, but for the journey that got him there. Since then, the actor has continued to deliver countless memorable performances in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Swades, Devdas, and My Name Is Khan. Each one has only deepened his connection with the audience. Even today, at 60, SRK continues to rule both the box office and the hearts of millions.
