Yuzvendra Chahal, one of the leading bowlers of Team India, recently won everyone's hearts with his performance against Kolkata Knight Riders in a low-scoring IPL match at Mullanpur Cricket Stadium.
On April 15, the Punjab Kings team created history as they defended the lowest-ever total in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the leg spinner, in no time, bamboozled Kolkata Knight Riders batters, chipping away with 4 wickets. He first dismissed KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane. He then got wickets of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rinku Singh, and Ramandeep Singh to tilt the pendulum towards the Punjab Kings' side. Even though PBKS had only made 111, they managed to attack the KKR with their amazing bowling prowess and finished the match with a stupendous 16-run victory. And now, a few days after the thrilling match, PBKS' co-owner and actor Preity Zinta penned an appreciation post for Yuzvendra. She even recalled her first meeting with Yuzi in 2009 and shared a picture from that meeting. "How it started vs how it's going, I met Yuzi during the King's Cup in 2009 in Chandigarh. I was new to cricket & he was a young under-19 cricketer. Over the years, I saw him flourish & become a force to reckon with in the cricket world. "It is a team effort. We wanted to be positive, and we felt that if we got 2-3 wickets in the powerplay, then it would be good. In the last game, I conceded 56 for 4 overs, but I had full confidence and backed myself and my abilities," Chahal explained. "I always have the mindset of how to get the batters out. I varied my pace, and if they have to hit, they will have to make an effort. When you win such a game, the team's morale will be high. It's my first man of the match for Punjab, I'm confident that if I keep backing my skills and believe in myself, then I will get success," he further said.
