'The Boys' creator Eric Kripke shared that although in the previous seasons the primary cast was kept safe to advance the story, however, fans should not expect their favourite superheroes to survive in Season 5, reported Deadline.

'The Boys' is an American satirical superhero TV series created by Eric Kripke. It is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

The series features an ensemble cast including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Elisabeth Shue, Colby Minifie, Aya Cash, Claudia Doumit, Jensen Ackles, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

He updated his fans about season 5 which is currently in development after season 4.

"There's no guarantee of who's gonna survive because we don't have to keep them for another season, so you can have really shocking, big things happen all the time," said Kripke. "And so, as the writers, as we're starting to cook it up, we're really enjoying that."

After making an announcement in June that the show will conclude after five seasons, the creators have pressure to give a good ending, which according to him was "always my plan."

"So many series finales suck, and it's really hard to land the plane," added Kripke. "I am very grateful to Amazon for giving me the opportunity to end it on our own terms, but for sure, I feel lots and lots of pressure to end it well. Because I think if we can stick the landing, then people will be like, 'That's a great show!' But if we s-- the bed, people will say, 'Oh, it was a good show, but they s-- the bed.'"

In 2020, Kripke stated that his "rough idea" for the comic book TV adaptation was "roughly five seasons," citing his previous show, Supernatural, which lasted 15 seasons. "But I also know better than to say how many seasons a show is gonna have," he explained at the time.

"The final season of 'The Boys' comes after Season 4 topped the Nielsen streaming scores for the first time, setting multiple records for Prime Video. Meanwhile, Prime Video has ordered the prequel series Vought Rising, starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as Soldier Boy and Stormfront," reported Deadline. (ANI)
