Brad Pitt will most likely reunite with American film director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino for his tenth and reportedly final film, 'The Movie Critic'. However, there is no confirmation, reported Variety.

Tarantino hasn't revealed much about 'The Movie Critic', but it's set in southern California in the 1970s and revolves around a pessimistic film critic. It is said to be inspired by the life of Pauline Kael, a late New Yorker writer and one of the most important film critics of her era.

Tarantino avoided questions about "The Movie Critic" during a talk at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, saying to audience members, "I can't tell you guys [anything] until you see the movie. I'm tempted to do some of the character's monologues right now, but I'm not going to. Maybe if there were less video cameras. You just have to wait and see."

According to Variety, Pitt is planning to film a Formula One racing film with 'Top Gun: Maverick' director Joseph Kosinski in 2024. In that film, an Apple production, he plays a retired race car driver who returns to compete against a novice racer and the sport's titans. So, if talks for 'The Movie Critic' are finished, production would most likely not begin until mid-year or later. The film will shoot in California and obtain a $20 million tax credit, but no studio has been committed to it.

Pitt and Tarantino previously collaborated on 2009's 'Inglourious Basterds' and 2019's 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood', earning Pitt an Oscar for best supporting actor. 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood' starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie, grossed $377 million internationally.

Tarantino has shared an intention to retire from filmmaking after his 10th film. He made his feature debut with the independent crime drama 'Reservoir Dogs' in 1992 and followed that up with 1994's Palme d'Or-winning "Pulp Fiction." Tarantino also directed 'Jackie Brown', 'Kill Bill: Volume 1' and 'Volume 2', 'Death Proof', 'Django Unchained' and 'The Hateful Eight', reported Variety. (ANI)
