American actor Ashley Park has revealed that she suffered a health scare in the first few weeks of the New Year, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the 'Emily in Paris' star stated that while vacationing in December and New Year, her tonsillitis turned into an infection resulting in a "critical septic shock" that attacked "several" organs.

"I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told," Park shared on Instagram alongside photos of herself in a hospital bed and recovering.

"Grateful most of all to @peforman for being unconditionally by my side through all this. You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know. I love you Paul. More than I can ever say," she continued, as she credited and seemingly confirmed her relationship with her Emily in Paris co-star Paul Forman.

Park expressed gratitude to "every doctor and ICU nurse who worked tirelessly and especially the @JoaliBeing team for responding immediately and staying with me to provide language translations and vital support. Infinite thanks to my personal team of heroes at home who were on calls with insurance, Paul, my parents, and doctors at all hours (you know who you are)."

Despite speaking up about her health issue and recovery, the actress acknowledged that she "hesitated to share what's been happening" because she is "still in the throes of recovery."

"But I now know I'm safely on the other side of the worst," she added. "Thanks for reading this. I'm sorry for being so absent recently to so much and to people in my life. I love you all. I'm healing and I promise I'm gonna be okay."

'Emily in Paris' follows Collins' eponymous character, an ambitious marketing professional from Chicago who wins her dream job in Paris.

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, and William Abadie all appear on the show.

The fourth season of the Netflix comedy series, which has been delayed due to strikes, is currently being produced in Paris.

Park's post comes on the same day as Netflix announcing that the series has gone back into production, sharing a photo of star Lily Collins holding the season four premiere script. Collins expressed her love to Park in a comment shared on her co-star's post, writing, "I can hardly look at these without crying. I love you sister and I'm forever grateful you're on the other side of this and for @peforman for your incredibly huge heart and being there for every step of the way. I cannot wait to hug you both," reported The Hollywood Reporter. (ANI)
