Actor Konkona Sensharma, who is lapping up praise for her role in the just released web series, 'Killer Soup' says she has caught herself behaving like the characters she plays and once professed her feelings to a guy in real life just because the character she was playing in the film was doing so.

In an interview with ANI, the actor recounts, "A few years ago, when my character was going to profess some feelings to some guy, I also decided to let me do that in real life. There was absolutely no need to do this but I kind of did it because I wanted to just revise that feeling of insecurity. i just wanted to cheat really."

"I love it when your self leaks into your characters...It must be working differently for different characters ...otherwise it would get repetitive...," said the two time National Film award winning actor.

"I love it because when you're shooting on a set, it's so disjointed that you are just somehow creating that reality with yourself and your co-actor... Sometimes the co-actor is not there in front of you or your acting to a mark and there are so many people around you...it's an exercise in willpower and imagination," Konkona said.

The 'Wake up Sid' actor spoke about choosing to play relatable characters. "I feel like first, the character has to be relatable to me. And if I can find that portal of connection with my character, then I feel and trust that others will also connect. I feel that everything is already within us; all the emotions are already within us. For different characters, you bring out different aspects of yourself. We've all known love, loss, betrayal, death, and anger for different reasons.

"I'm an intuitive kind of person," said the actor adding, "Whatever acting I try to do is largely through instinct. I can never plan a performance."

"I never plan ki aaj main jakar ye karungi ...woh toh mujhse hota hi nahin hai...what happens is if you are taken with something it's in your mind ..." said Konkona whose repertoire includes films like 'Page 3', 'Luck by Chance', 'Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge' and 'Omkara'.

She bagged a National Film Award for best actress for her role in 'Mr and Mrs Iyer' and the National Film Award for Best Supporting actress for her role in 'Omkara'.

Konkona's recent release, 'Killer Soup', directed by Abhishek Chaubey, stars Manoj Bajpayee, , Nasser, Sayaji Shinde, Lal, Anbuthasan, Anula Navlekar, and Kani Kusruti in pivotal roles.

The series revolves around Swathi Shetty, a budding cook who wishes for the entire world to enjoy her soup. One mishap kicks off a chain reaction of accidents and frantic cover-ups that find her and her partner in hot water. Produced by Chetana Kowshik and Honey Trehan, 'Killer Soup' is available on Netflix. (ANI)
