Actor and rapper Nashawn Breedlove, who was known for battle-rapping with American rapper and songwriter Eminem in the film '8 Mile,' cause of death has been revealed.

The rapper-actor died of acute intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, cocaine and ethanol, according to an autopsy report from New Jersey's Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner obtained by PEOPLE.

His death was ruled an accident.

Nashawn was 46. According to a family member, Nashawn died in his sleep on September 24 at his home in New Jersey. His close ones were unaware of the reason for his death.

Breedlove's mother Patricia confirmed his death on Facebook, writing, "Nashawn was a rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. No one could deny his talent."

"Nashawn's departure from this world has left an immense void in my life, one that words cannot fully express. I can't put into words the pain and hurt that I feel," she continued. "He was not just my son; he was a remarkable man whose character and strength inspired all who crossed his path," reported PEOPLE.

Nashawn played Lotto in the 2002 film '8 Mile,' which is partially based on Eminem's life.

He is best remembered for a sequence in which his character competes in a rap war with Em's B-Rabbit.

Before 8 Mile, Breedlove went by the stage name OX and was featured on the soundtrack for 2001's 'The Wash' starring Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, as per PEOPLE. (ANI)
