New Delhi [India]/ Nepal, September 18: UNITED SIKHS volunteers continue to provide essential relief to flood-affected families in Nuwakot, Nepal, serving freshly prepared meals twice a day to around 2,000 people daily.

The langar is supporting displaced families, including children and elderly survivors, as well as Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel involved in relief operations. Dry rations are also being distributed to families who wish to cook their own meals.

Urgent Appeal for 65 Temporary Shelters

As immediate food requirements continue to be addressed, UNITED SIKHS is now focusing on shelter for families who have lost their homes. The organisation is urgently seeking support to construct 65 temporary shelters, providing displaced families with a safe and dignified place to stay while they rebuild their lives.

The initiative will be followed by a second phase focused on constructing permanent homes.

M.J. Singh, Director, UNITED SIKHS, said, Seeing our volunteers serve flood survivors and those protecting and assisting them is a powerful reminder of what selfless service can accomplish when a community comes together in crisis.

UNITED SIKHS is appealing to donors, partner organizations and the public to support the on-going langar and shelter-building efforts.
