Mohali (Punjab) [India], August 20: Punjab's management education industry has no shortage of contenders, but few make it onto a national ranking in their category. Amity University Punjab has now done exactly that, recognized as the Best Emerging B-School in Punjab by Times B-School, and ranked #2 as the Best Emerging B-School in the North Zone in the same survey. The recognition reflects a management and commerce education built around an industry-aligned curriculum, experiential learning, international exposure and dedicated placement support, each of which shows up concretely across the university's four programmes.

Comprehensive Management Programmes Designed for Future Leaders

Amity University Punjab offers four management and commerce programmes, each with a distinct academic focus but sharing a common structure that pairs classroom instruction with practical business exposure.

What sets these programmes apart is less about what gets taught in the classroom and more about who the university brings into it. Amity University Punjab holds active collaborations with more than 30 organizations, including L&T EduTech, IBM, Infosys Springboard, ACCA and CSIR, feeding directly into curriculum design, live industry projects and professional certifications. A B.Com (Hons.) student, for instance, can work toward an ACCA-aligned certification alongside the degree rather than treating it as a separate, later step. A dedicated Corporate Resource Centre carries this forward into internships and placement preparation, so the industry connection runs through the whole programme rather than showing up in a single elective.

MBA

The MBA runs across nine specialization tracks, including Marketing Management, Finance, Human Resource, International Business, Information Technology for Management, Operations, Digital Marketing, Business Analytics and Healthcare Management. This range lets a student move from a shared foundation in leadership and strategic management into a track that lines up closely with the career they are actually chasing, whether that is a core finance role or something more specialized like healthcare management.

BBA

The BBA lays a foundation in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, human resources and digital business, giving students a broad view of core business functions before they specialize in later semesters, the same specialize-after-foundation approach that runs through the Masters in Business Administration.

B.Com (Hons.)

B.Com (Hons.) is built around accounting, taxation, finance, auditing and business analytics, preparing students for chartered accountancy, financial analysis and corporate finance roles. It is also the programme behind one of the university's strongest recent student outcomes, detailed later in this piece.

Industry Exposure and Experiential Learning

Beyond these programme-specific partnerships, the academic calendar includes regular industry visits, corporate guest lectures and case-study based learning, supplemented by workshops and management conclaves that bring academicians, industry leaders and students onto a common platform. Internships remain built into every programme, giving students exposure to workplace processes and team dynamics before graduation.

Study Abroad Programme (SAP)

One of the university's other distinguishing features is its Study Abroad Programme, or SAP. The programme runs for around five weeks at Amity's international campuses in London, Singapore, Dubai or New York, with coursework delivered by international faculty through classroom sessions, plenary lectures and evening talks, alongside team assignments and report-writing projects. Industry visits give students a first-hand look at how top MNCs operate in that country, and guided tours to well-known universities in the UK and USA add another layer of exposure. Students also get to network with an international peer group, in accommodation the university has vetted for safety.

Student Success

Kavya Garg, a B.Com (Hons.) student from the 2022-2025 batch, cleared CAT 2024 in her first attempt with a 99.72 percentile, securing admission to IIM Ahmedabad, one of the country's most competitive management institutes and a widely recognized benchmark for postgraduate management education. Her result places her among a small percentage of CAT test-takers nationally, a significant individual achievement for a student from the university's B.Com (Hons.) programme.

The university has also recently celebrated the achievement of its former students Jasmeen and Jasleen, from the first batch of B.Tech. Biotechnology (2021). Both have been accepted into the MS Biotechnology programme at Johns Hopkins University, USA, and have also co-authored two research papers in Scopus-indexed, high-impact journals with their faculty mentors. Their achievement highlights how academic mentorship and research-oriented learning can support students in pursuing advanced study opportunities at globally recognised institutions. Career Development and Placement Support

Amity University Punjab's career development framework supports students through each stage of their transition to employment, from career guidance, resume building and mock interviews to corporate mentoring and dedicated internship support. Placement preparation and skill-development sessions cover aptitude, communication and domain-specific knowledge at regular intervals. Graduates have gone on to work across banking, consulting, FMCG, retail, IT, finance and analytics, with several choosing to build their own ventures instead of joining an existing organization. Conclusion

Amity University Punjab's management and commerce programmes are built on more than a shared classroom structure. Across the MBA, BBA and B.Com (Hons.), students work through a curriculum shaped by real industry partnerships, live projects, internships and a Corporate Resource Centre that carries them through to placement, with SAP adding a genuine international dimension. The Times B-School recognition and Kavya Garg's CAT 2024 result are two different kinds of validation for this approach, one institutional and one individual, but they point in the same direction: an industry-aligned, globally connected business education that does not require leaving Punjab to access it.
