MUMBAI, India, Sept. 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ --  SVKM's NMIMS, a Deemed-to-be University, held Convocation 2022 for the schools of Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Mumbai, School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Shirpur, centre of excellence in Analytics & Data Science, Mumbai School of Performing Arts, Mumbai and School of Design, Mumbai which was graced by the Chief Guest Shri. Sudarshan Jain, Secretary-General, Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) Senior Advisor, APAX Partners. Along with him on the dais were Shri Bharat Sanghavi, Nominee of the Hon'ble Chancellor, Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. H. Ravishankar Kamath,  Registrar, Dr. Bala Prabhakar, Dean, Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPPSPTM), Dr. Sridhar Vaithianathan, Director & Professor (Analytics), COE-A&DS, Dr. Vikas Bharadwaj, Associate Dean, School of Performing Arts, and Dr. Anirban Chowdhury, Associate Dean, School of Design.

The ceremony was attended by a congregation of students from various streams of which  196  students came from Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPPSPTM) Mumbai and School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Shirpur from Ph.D./M.Pharm.+MBA/B.Pharm.+MBA/B.Pharm. programs.  Additionally  39 from Centre of Excellence A&DS (MBA in Business Analytics),  14 from School of Performing Arts (SOPA) – BPA, 19 from School of Design (SOD) –B.Des. (Humanising Technology) also attended the convocation.  

Convocation is a very special day in every student's life and one of their most important milestones. This is a day dedicated to celebrating students' achievements and faculty efforts to ensure students receive quality education and attain success. On Convocation Day, top academic performers were awarded degree certificates and medals for their outstanding performances. In addition, the faculty and staff have been awarded for imparting their knowledge and quality education and guiding the students' careers.

Addressing the gathering,  Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SVKM's NMIMS University, said, "This is also the time to acknowledge the contribution of the faculty members who are relentlessly making efforts to bring you to this level today and make you understand the essence of life whether it was during the pandemic or whether it was not during the pandemic. Remember we fly more and more higher, as you reach the pinnacle. We are really living in a challenging time. Great events are on the horizon, in the whole world today, learning from history, you need to be very bold and very ethically facing all the problems in life and I am sure you will swim through those too. Anybody who believes in these things who would like to see a life full of happiness and contentment ahead needs to join this battle and upbringing, knowledge, along with blessings of the almighty will give you the strength to face the almighty and strength to do the best and the best in life. Shri. Sudarshan Jain is the secretary-general of Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) and Senior Advisor - Apax Partners and a board member of multiple organisations. He is also the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Healthcare Management and Research (IIHMR, Jaipur). Speaking at the convocation ceremony Shri. Sudarshan Jain  said, "At this moment, I have been associated with this institute for the last two decades. I really admire the way the institute has grown over the years. India is known as the pharmacy of the world. It contributes to 20% of medicines around the world and 60% of vaccines. You are entering the world at the right time where India will offer tremendous opportunities in all the fields. Learning journey is a prerequisite for the career journey. After IQ, is the ethical quotient. Wherever you are, whichever part of the world you are, please remember the name of NMIMS, remember the name of your parents, remember your teachers, ethics are fundamental. The opportunities will come only with hard work. There will be ups and downs in life, there will be challenges, but remember we are fortunate. It is important to prepare the plan to measure what you achieve. The one thing that you can take from this convocation address is to have an implementation plan which you will monitor every year and you will be focussed on IQ, you will be focused on health, and you will be focussed on EQ in a new dimension, ethical dimension and preacher's quotient. On this occasion School of Performing Arts released their second edition of Annual Magazine Swaragini. It incorporates information on multiple activities like workshops, students' performance, webinars etc. Also, School of Design released their second edition magazine By Design-An Anthology of Research & Projects which highlights the articles, White papers, Research papers, Module posters like Fashion - Reel or Real, Addicted to the Augmented life, Cobots 4.0 at your Service, IoT solutions for safer local train services and many more.

The university has emerged as the most credible institution in higher education as reflected by several rankings and ratings of the stakeholder confidence.
