BANGALORE and MONTVALE, New Jersey, October 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
For the second consecutive year, IMA ® (Institute of Management Accountants) has been named the Professional Body of the Year by The Accountant and The International Accounting Bulletin (IAB).
Presented to an organization with profound influence within the accounting and finance profession and beyond, the Professional Body of the Year Award represents IMA's ongoing efforts to support members through advanced certifications, learning programs, research and more. IAB Awards are presented annually and selected by an independent panel of judges.
"I can think of no better way to celebrate our centennial as an organization than with this extraordinary recognition," said IMA President and CEO Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE. "In the last year, we've witnessed the digital age unfold within our profession and as an organization, we've dedicated ourselves to providing our members with the right resources to ensure continued success in an evolving field. We're incredibly honored to receive this award for the second time."
The award was received by Fatema El-Wakeel, CMA, past President of IMA's London Chapter and member of IMA's Global Board of Directors, and Pauline Gilbert, CMA, and David Powell, CMA, Treasurer and Secretary of IMA's London Chapter, at The Digital Accountancy Forum & Awards on October 4, 2018 in London.
IMA was also a finalist [GB1] for the Communication Campaign of the Year for its 2017 integrated communications campaign, which highlighted the power of certification in today's digital age. IMA expanded this theme with the recent launch of its 2018 campaign.
